Welcome back to our “Meet the EMURGO Team” series! In this series, we introduce you to members of our talented team; take a closer look at who they are, and what they do behind the scenes. Previously, we introduced Puru and Toida from EMURGO’s Consulting team. This week, let’s meet another awesome team member from EMURGO’s Marketing team, Azu.

Meet Azu 1

Azu also gives us her views in the video below, so please check it out now!

Here is also a short interview with Azu.

Could you tell me about your reasons for joining EMURGO?

Azu: Business and investments have been a great interest of mine from a young age, and I came across cryptocurrency and blockchain such as Cardano a few years back. With current advancements in technology and finance, I gained further interest in blockchain upon realizing its potential and possible applications to these fields. Blockchain technology and cryptocurrency may still be new to some, but having the opportunity to be a part of this field is a great way to provide knowledge, share its potential to those who are just starting out, and also exchange ideas and opinions with those who are well informed about it.

What experience did you have prior to joining?

Azu: Since returning to Japan, I’ve had great opportunities working as a Marketer in fields such as Tech & Education and Foreign Trade.  I started out as an IT Entrepreneur associate where I was handling social media and creating marketing plans for a project that aims to enhance and prepare individuals for the TOEFL Speaking Test. After that, I joined a car export company where my marketing skills greatly improved through the opportunity to handle the company’s social media & advertising, email and marketing automation, and market research & data analysis.

What’s your role and can you tell me about your biggest achievement?

Azu: I am the Jr. Social Media Manager of EMURGO Japan, and it is my responsibility to provide news and updates about Cardano and EMURGO to our local community in a timely manner. I also do my best to come up with fun and exciting campaigns for our community members to join and engage in.

Meet Azu Tamuken

Azu: Since joining EMURGO, I would have to say the biggest achievement I had was promoting the Tamuken Campaign and taking part in the special launch event we had in Osaka. The majority of the preparation for the campaign was done by the time I had joined EMURGO. A lot of people were engaged in the campaign so we had to make changes and additions to it by coming up with more exciting prizes and extended promotional events. It was great to see how the event was a success both on social media and on the day we launched ADA payments at Tamuken’s restaurant in Osaka.

What are your thoughts on the potential for blockchain technology?

Azu: Looking at the potential of blockchain technology from a business perspective, technology like Cardano’s third-generation blockchain solutions may bring positive benefits by making processes for businesses and organizations simpler and safer. Eliminating the need of third parties, providing transparency for transaction validations, and providing a secure way of managing overall operations would not only bring more efficiency to businesses while cutting down on wasted time and costs, but it would also benefit the end users who would then be given the option to choose a secure and reliable source for whichever product or service they’re opting for.

What do you like most about working here at EMURGO?

Azu: EMURGO is a company with a diverse set of employees coming from different parts of the globe. After working for many months here, I came to see how each individual is respected despite cultural differences and backgrounds, and that there’s always something new to learn from each other.

I also love how the company values work-life balance, hosts monthly gatherings, and genuinely looks after their employees’ overall welfare in general. This is a good example to look up to for any company, and all the points I’ve stated above makes working at EMURGO more fun and productive.

What do you think  about the atmosphere in the EMURGO office?

Azu: The atmosphere at EMURGO for me is relaxed yet professional. Everyone knows when to have fun and when to be serious. It’s also great to have a workplace full of positive and vibrant individuals. We also have a well equipped relaxation room with gym equipment,  a Nintendo Switch to play with our coworkers, and enough bean bags for us to either relax or use while working too.

How do you feel about *EMURGO’s core values?

Azu: EMURGO’s core values may seem simple, but the underlying meaning of each value places great importance on how every individual should go forth in achieving our company’s goals. “Be valuable, bold, adaptive, and stay hungry” seem to be perfect for the fast paced industry that we’re in.

Finally, anything you would like to say to those interested in joining EMURGO in the future?

Azu: Not only is EMURGO a good place where your skills, opinions, and ideas are greatly valued. It is also a great place to improve them along with your coworkers!

Yes: EMURGO team members are dedicated to building a global Cardano together with the community. We believe that the stronger the team we build, the stronger EMURGO and Cardano will be! We always welcome new global talents to join us! Meanwhile, if you are committed to driving the adoption of Cardano for businesses and organizations and adding value to ADA holders, please reach out to us on social media or email us now.
